Rumsfeld questioned by U.S. Troops

American soldiers hurled hard questions at Secretary of Defence Donald Rumsfeld when he visited Camp Buehring in Kuwait for a pep rally.

One soldier voiced his condemnation at the inadequate protection armoured vehicles have. "Why do we soldiers have to dig through local landfills for pieces of scrap metal and compromised ballistic glass to uparmour our vehicles?"

Loud cheers followed the question from the assembled crowd, mostly made up of National Guard and Reserve troops. And what was Mr Rumsfeld’s response? Oh, it seems as if he didn’t hear the question (even though 2,000 soldiers heard it perfectly clear) and asked the soldier to repeat the question.

Rumsfeld said: “You go to war with the army you have.” So they went to war with crappy vehicles. What was that about the U.S. military being the best in the world or something? He went on to say that the vehicle armour manufactures were cranking up production. Well, I must say for all the bad things Rummy does he still has his good points. I’m sure the troops are happy more protection is coming. And this early in the war!

But then Rummy also added that with all that added protection the tanks and vehicles could still be blown
up. Did you hear that, you’re all gonna die!!! You gotta love Rummy’s pep talks. I’m sure the troops just feel dandy!
